M76348 series - Double-motor actuators

750 - 3000 Nm

Double-motor actuators are special actuators that perform a fast OPEN-CLOSE function in addition to their modulating function.
The modulating motor, together with the gearing, achieves a positioning time that is mastered by the DCS control loop.
The positioning speed achievable with the fast-speed motor is required for safety reasons in certain process conditions.

Once the safety position has been reached in fast speed, a suitable switching device allows the control motor to resume the positioning function of the actuator in the control loop.

Modulating duty: 5 or 10 rpm
Fast speed mode: 20, 40, or 80 rpm

Design features

  • with control and high-speed motor
  • mode of operation to DIN VDE 0530, Part 1,
    in closed-loop control operation: intermittend duty
    S4/S5 -10% rel. duty - 1200 c/h for control motor < 3 kW
    S4/S5 -10% rel. duty - 600 c/h for control motor > 3 kW
    in high-speed operation: short time duty
    S2 – 5 min
  • hand wheel for emergency operation (disconnected during normal operation)
  • mounting flange and drive shaft, type D to DIN 3210 (free end shaft with featherkey)
  • self-locking

  • Temperature range –20 bis +60°C 
  • Protection classes according to DIN EN 60529:
    Gearbox housing and switching and signaling device: IP65
    Motors: IP54
